Barbour team up with Laura Ashley for a heritage inspired Autumn Winter 20 Collection

Leading heritage and lifestyle brand Barbour has collaborated with British interior and fashion label Laura Ashley for the first time this Autumn Winter 20 to create a collection which blends archive Laura Ashley patterns with traditional Barbour styles.

Two signature Laura Ashley patterns have been carefully selected for this season – Shepherd’s Purse, a design introduced in 1976 featuring distinctive heart-shaped seedpods that inspired the name and Indienne, an Indian textile pattern from the 17th century used by Laura Ashley since 1985.   Both patterns feature on the linings of waxed and long-line waterproof breathable jackets alongside reversible quilts and gilets in a colour palette of olive, navy and a new rich purple hued bordeaux.

Incorporating the rich history from the Laura Ashley archive, clothing includes a mix of patterned shirts and dresses with ruffled neck finishes, a premium multi coloured Fair Isle lambswool knitted jumper, a floral embroidered soft cotton overlayer and a selection of stylish accessories, completing a classic collection full of quintessential British charm, updated with a modern and stylish twist.

Outerwear

The Barbour Poplars Wax is influenced by the classic Barbour Beadnell wax jacket. Updated with a choice of the archive Laura Ashley print linings Indienne and Shepherd’s Purse, this style includes two signature hand warmer pockets and two bellows pockets with tonal embroidered Barbour branding. Completed in a robust wax cotton finish, it is ideal for the winter months.

A contemporary wax parka full of functionality, the Barbour Yews Wax features the print of Shepherd’s Purse on the inner lining and cuff turn up’s. Cut to a longer length, it includes Barbour’s iconic corduroy collar, hand warmer pockets, a detachable hood and two bellows pockets and is available in olive.

A box-quilt jacket based on the Barbour Liddesdale, which was first introduced in the 90s, the Barbour Elm Quilt is a reversible garment lined with Shepherd’s Purse and Indienne. Cut with a curved hem for a more refined silhouette, collarless detailing adds an on-trend finish to an understated womenswear jacket.

The Barbour Spruce Quilt features a signature corduroy collar, hand warmer pockets, front bellows pockets and a box quilt design. Completed with stud fastening and available in a choice of ‘navy’ and ‘olive’ with a choice of Shepherd’s Purse and Indienne lining, this is a jacket made for day trips in the British countryside.

The perfect layer for those cooler morning walks, the Barbour Larch Gilet is a reversible gilet with box quilting on one side and the Shepherd’s Purse and Indienne prints on the other. Available in navy and olive, it’s an easy to wear gilet.

A waterproof breathable style designed with a durable cotton and wool blend; the Barbour Douglas Jacket is a fashionable parka with the Shepherd’s Purse and Indienne print linings. A dipped hem and drawcord waist creates a fitted shape, whilst front bellows pockets nod to Barbour’s country heritage.

Knitwear

A fine wool Fair Isle sweater, the Barbour Poplars Knit features a distinct ribbed stitch round neckline and long sleeves gathered at the bottom to create a unique and vintage look to the knit.

Shirts

The Barbour Yews Shirt is designed with ruffle collar and a pin-tuck detailing for a nostalgic look. The garment is available in a colourful Shepherd’s Purse and Indienne patterns on a textured cotton fabric.

In an all over Shepherd’s Purse pattern, the Barbour Spruce Shirt is made from a 100% cotton. Designed in a loose silhouette with enlarged sleeves at the shoulder, it is completed with ruffle detailing on the cuffs for a statement look.

Dresses

A button through printed shirt dress designed with Laura Ashley’s Indienne floral print, the Barbour Elm Dress is made from a soft fabric to create a premium silk- like texture. A ruffled front placket highlights the garment’s Victorian influence, whilst the cut remains full length, presenting a classy and sophisticated dress.

Sweatshirts

Available in ‘navy’ and crafted in a soft cotton for a high-quality feel, the Barbour Larch Overlayer is a casual sweatshirt with floral embroidery across the shoulder and the chest.

Tops

The Barbour Douglas Top is a soft cotton long sleeve jersey with ruffle sleeve detailing. Cut for a relaxed fit, this piece features an ‘off white’ floral print embroidery and is an everyday stylish garment.

The collection also features two midweight scarves made from a light fabric blend to create a silk like texture. Available in the Shepherd’s Purse print, the Barbour Elm Scarf includes a fringed hem, whilst the Barbour Spruce Scarf is designed with the Indienne print and has a block colour finish, presenting a chic scarf for both casual and formal occasions.

Made from a 100% soft leather and finished with intricate Laura Ashley prints of Shepherd’s Purse and Indienne on the cuff, the Barbour Poplars Leather Gloves are a warm and practical accessory made for cold weather.
