Most often the best seat in the house is qualified by either its look or its comfort, rarely both. Admit it… that old passed-down chair from mum and dad is your choice spot for curling up with The Hunger Games yet it remains the bane of your stylish façade. But not to worry, in homage to Earth Day (April 22) we’ve perused our favourite blogs for makeovers that are sure to inspire you to touch up and not toss out that old chair.
Blogger Terri at Crafty Workin Mommy is a busy full time mum of 3 who remarkably finds time to bake, craft, and blog while keeping pace with her role as an event planner and stylist. Her vision for a pair of dated chairs was vivid and we think executed beautifully.
In the land down under, we stumbled on Kylie, an intriguing crafter and blogger who shares our appreciation for "All Things Lovely." Her virtual wonderland by the same name is where she shared this makeover of a chair she purchased on eBay for just 99 cents.
Interior designer and blogger of Adventures In Creating, Rachelle, surprised us all with her revival of this iconic 70s lounger to its new chic status.
Simply sensational is what we’re calling this makeover from at Centsational Girl. A fresh paint colour can do wonders on its own, but paired with the natural textures of the burlap and twine (a delightful surprise for the ladder back) and you have a treasured conversation piece.
Finally, one of our go-to publications for decorating, Country Living, is where you’ll find a gallery of makeover ideas including this chair reinvented with a luxe bold print.
Now that you are fully charged to go make and do, perhaps you’re feeling a bit lucky too? Have you entered our Wish Upon A Chair Giveaway? Wishing won’t make it so, but if you ‘Like’ Us and enter your details on Facebook, you could win new fabric to refresh that old chair (plus a coordinating cushion as icing on the prize). ‘Like’ Us + Enter now!
